There is a solution to every problem. You just have to work it out, or speak to someone who knows the solution. Albert Einstein’s advice was to, ‘Stay away from negative people. They have a problem with every solution.’

I agree with him, because it’s easy to become negative and lose motivation when surrounded by negative people, no matter how much you try to stay positive.

If you have a great idea, some people will put you down. You will hear them say; no, you can’t do that. It won’t work, or you will never succeed if you do that.

You have just written your first novel or intend to do a new project. Your project might be brilliant or crap, but it does not matter because you are starting out and will improve with practice. These days you need to write quite a few books before you get recognised according to experts. You are excited about your achievements, but you hear these negative comments, and you freeze and swear you will never work on your new projects again. The support and encouragement you hoped for never happens because you shared your dreams with the wrong audience. That is why you get negative comments. It is great to share ideas with family and friends. But that does not mean they are always the right audience to share your dreams with, nor do they understand your passion for particular projects. Thus, the negative comments. Don’t give up! You might become very successful one day.

Some tips for you to think about.

  1. You have a dream. Pursue it no matter who does not believe in you. You will improve every time you continue to work on it.
  2. Don’t tell people about your dreams, unless they are doing the same projects you are, and are interested in your success.
  3. It is often people you least expect who will not support you in your dreams and goals. So, join groups of like-minded people online and offline. People in these groups are supportive.
  4. Learn to be self-motivated and resilient.
  5. Do not listen to negative people; they need to get off their butt and set some goals for themselves instead of criticizing you.
  6. So, get into your writing, your cover designs or whatever your projects are. It is time to live a powerful life, irrespective of what life throws at you, or what negative people say.

Believe in yourself! Keep working on your projects.

No matter what you do in life, someone will criticize you. So, disregard these people! It’s your life, your projects and about you being happy and making the most of everything you do.
