Centrelink/Social Security is a large complicated system. Stay alert, focused, and make sure you understand all the information given to you. Your purpose is to get a job and get out of that system as quickly as possible. However, while you are there, here is a tip that will assist you to survive the system.
Tip 1: Read everything Centrelink/Social Security gives you before you sign it. Some staff expect you to sign papers without you reading it first simply because they have limited time or expect you to trust what they say is documented. Read it first! Make sure you understand what you are signing before you sign it. In fact, do that with any document irrespective of what it is, to stay safe.
Once you have been to Centrelink and completed all their paperwork, they will refer you to an employment Service Provider who supposedly assist you to find a job. Here is a tip when dealing with the employment Service Provider.
Tip 1: Do not wait for the Service Providers to get you a job, get yourself one. If the Service Provider finds you a job, half the time the job does not match your skills, so do not wait for them to help you. Be self-reliant and search for your own job.
